We had the pleasure of interviewing Adam and Tia of Sydney Luxury Sailing Charters. After many miles aboard 65ft Oyster Yacht Pegasus they tell us a little about their story, their love of the water and some of the highlights along the way. Pegasus is adorned with a full set of Dolphin Sails.
1) Can you introduce us to yourself and how your charter company evolved?
Pegasus is a family-owned yacht. Adam and I, manage the yacht for the family with our own charter business. Adam and I met and fell in love a few years ago in the tropical Whitsundays for Hamilton Island Race Week, With his sailing and vessel maintenance experience and my superyacht background, it made perfect sense to get Pegasus into survey and work together, building a business that complemented our lifestyle. Now that we have a baby, it works really well for our family, following the sun up and down the East Coast of Australia.
2) What is the highlight of the job for you?
The highlight for both of us is meeting new people and showcasing spectacular locations. We aim to provide customised 5-star service, creating stories and memories rather than just offering another charter experience.
3) Where are your favourite locations that you have visited on Pegasus?
We offer our charter services in Pittwater, Sydney Harbour, and the Whitsundays. Some exciting places we have travelled on Pegasus include Tasmania and, in 2023, the Fiji Islands, whilst I was pregnant. We are also looking forward to one day joining a leg of the Oyster World Rally!
4) Have your Dolphin Sails served you well, and do you know roughly how many miles you have done with them?
Yes, our Dolphin Sails have stood the test of time and are ready for replacement after 10 years of sailing! In our management, we have covered approximately 50,000 nautical miles.
